Sustainability

What is Sustainability?

The EPA defines sustainability as:

“Sustainability is based on a simple principle: Everything that we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, that permit fulfilling the social, economic and other requirements of present and future generations.”

How Does Flontech USA View Sustainability?

Flontech USA believes in not only being innovative leaders in their industry, but also being innovative stewards in their environment.

Flontech USA is researching a scrap PTFE compound buyback program, which includes purchasing presintered, blended PTFE compound scrap, and the separation of compounds to be used in a presintered flow grade.

In continuation of sustainability throughout Flontech USA’s manufacturing process, materials used throughout the facility, as well as shipping containers are recyclable. Flontech USA uses 100% recyclable cardboard fiber shipping containers that have many advantages over fiber drums. For one example, Flontech USA’s cardboard fiber containers can be recycled using far less effort and energy than fiber drums. Another example would be that they “nest” easier and more efficiently, saving on shipping cost, and fuel.

ISO 14001

In pursuit of an ISO 14001 Certification, Flontech USA is a facility that consciously makes strides everyday to protect the well being of our people, and the water, materials, and resources to protect our environment.
